DTN Early Word Grains 05/26 05:56 Same Soy (Complex), Different Day July corn was 2 cents higher, July beans were 8 cents higher, and July Kansas City wheat was 7 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 2 cents higher, July beans were 8 cents higher, and July Kansas City wheat was 7 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: The soybean complex posted another strong, commercial led rally overnight with both soybeans and bean meal contract near session highs early Thursday. Corn and wheat followed suit, with wheat actually the stronger of the two this time around. Outside markets were mostly higher with both crude oil and gold showing gains. The U.S. dollar index was posting a small loss, following up Wednesday's quiet sell-off. DJIA futures were higher hinting at continued strength when the Big Board opens later Thursday morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 145.46 points higher at 17,751.51, the NASDAQ Composite gained 33.83 points to 4,894.89, and the S&P 500 rallied 14.48 points to close at 2,090.54 Wednesday. DJIA futures were 17 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei up 15.11 points (0.1%) while China's Shanghai Composite gained 7.36 points (0.3%). European markets were mixed with London's FTSE 100 up 7.11 points (0.1%). The U.S. dollar index was off 0.138 to 95.216. Crude oil rallied $0.30 to $49.86 while Brent crude added $0.41 to $50.15. June gold was $3.20 higher at $1,227.00. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were higher overnight.
