DTN Early Word Grains 06/08 05:54 Beans Jumping Again Early Wednesday July corn was 2 cents higher, July beans were 11 cents higher, and July Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 2 cents higher, July beans were 11 cents higher, and July Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. CME Globex Recap: The Chicago soybean complex regained some of its bullish momentum overnight with all three markets showing gains early Wednesday morning. Light spillover buying supported corn, while wheat contracts drifted lower. Outside markets remain bullish with both energies and metals posting gains. The U.S. dollar index was showing a small loss while DJIA futures continued to rally. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 17.95 points higher at 17,938.28, the NASDAQ Composite dropped 6.96 points to 4,961.75, and the S&P 500 rallied 2.72 points to close at 2,112.13 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 17 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei up 155.47 points (0.9%) while China's Shanghai Composite fell 8.89 points (0.3%). European markets were lower though London's FTSE 100 was showing a small gain of 6.26 points (0.1%). The U.S. dollar index lost 0.076 to 93.752. Crude oil rallied $0.44 to $50.80 while Brent crude was up $0.53 to $51.97. August gold was $8.30 higher at $1,255.30. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower overnight.
