DTN Early Word Grains 06/09 05:55 Grains Feeling Charitable Early Thursday July corn was 5 cents lower, July beans were 7 cents lower, and July Chicago wheat was 5 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 5 cents lower, July beans were 7 cents lower, and July Chicago wheat was 5 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Grains gave back some of Wednesday's rally overnight into Thursday morning, with renewed commercial selling seen in both soybeans and corn. Outside markets were also lower as the U.S. dollar index rallied to erase Wednesday's losses. DJIA futures were lower, in line with what is seen in overseas markets. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 66.77 points higher at 18,005.05, the NASDAQ Composite gained 12.89 points to 4,974.64, and the S&P 500 rallied 6.99 points to close at 2,119.12 Wednesday. DJIA futures were 53 points lower overnight. Asian markets were lower with Japan's Nikkei down 162.51 points (1.0%) while China's Shanghai Composite fell 6.11 points (0.3%). European markets were lower with London's FTSE 100 off 56.79 points (0.9%). The U.S. dollar index rallied 0.273 to 93.863. Crude oil was off $0.48 to $50.75 while Brent crude was down $0.58 to $51.93. August gold was $1.50 lower at $1,260.80. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower overnight.
