DTN Early Word Grains 09/07 05:58 No Turnaround Early Wednesday December corn was unchanged, November soybeans were 9 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was unchanged, November soybeans were 9 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were trading higher early Wednesday, once again led by the soybean market. All but wheat closed higher Tuesday as the U.S. dollar index melted down. The greenback near unchanged Wednesday morning after establishing another set of bearish technical signals. Much of the pressure on the dollar is coming from talk of little to no chance the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates in September, though Wednesday could see a reversal of those headlines in the ongoing battle of opinions. Energies were mostly higher while metals were mostly lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 46.16 points higher at 18,538.12, the NASDAQ Composite gained 26.01 points to 5,275.91, and the S&P 500 rallied 6.50 points to close at 2,186.48 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 5 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei down 69.54 points (0.4%) while China's Shanghai Composite gained 1.22 points. European markets were mostly higher with London's FTSE 100 up 5.41 points, Germany's DAX gained 31.21 points (0.3%), and France's CAC 40 added 8.29 points (0.2%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.004 lower at 94.860. Crude oil was up $0.43 to $45.26 while Brent crude gained $0.51 to $47.77. December gold was $1.70 lower at $1,352.30. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower again overnight.
