By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 7 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent higher. CME Globex Recap: The Federal Reserve's two-day meeting begins Tuesday, with global markets awaiting Wednesday's decision on interest rates. The U.S. dollar index spent most of Monday under pressure, and was lower again overnight into early Tuesday morning. DJIA futures were higher, continuing stock's see-saw trade ahead of the Fed's announcement. Commodities were mixed though grains were higher across the board. Soybeans once again led the complex, posting a double-digit gain during the session before pulling back slightly. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 3.63 points lower at 18,120.17, the NASDAQ Composite lost 9.54 points (0.2) to 5,235.03, and the S&P 500 dipped 0.04 point to close at 2,139.12 Monday. DJIA futures were 44 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei down 27.14 points (0.2%) and China's Shanghai Composite off 3.05 points (0.1%). European markets were mostly higher with London's FTSE 100 up 29.93 points (0.4%), Germany's DAX gained 52.24 points (0.5%), and France's CAC 40 rallied 9.11 points (0.2%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.025 lower at 95.816. Crude oil slipped $0.15 to $43.15 while Brent crude dipped $0.17 to $45.78. December gold was $0.20 higher at $1,318.00. China's Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were both higher again overnight.
