DTN Closing Livestock Comment 11/02 15:31 Livestock Futures Close Mostly Higher Wednesday Live cattle futures closed mixed, up 67 to down 15. Feeder cattle contracts were higher, up 40 to 135. Lean hog futures also were higher, up 15 to 137. By Rick Kment DTN Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Cash cattle trade is quiet with just a few scattered bids in Texas at $102. Asking prices are around $108 to $110 in the South and $170 plus in the North. Today's Fed Cattle Exchange Auction saw 12,700 head listed and of those 3,492 head sold. Kansas prices were $104-106; Nebraska $104-105.25; Texas $105-106; Colorado $105.75; Iowa $104. Others $104.25. According to the closing report, the national hog base is $0.45 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($42.00-$45.50, weighted average $43.90). Corn futures closed lower, down 2 3/4 in the December contract and down 2 1/4 in the March.
