DTN Closing Livestock Comment 11/14 16:16 Led by Feeder Contracts, Cattle Futures Close Mostly Higher Though well off session highs, cattle complex futures settled mostly higher with feeders gaining on live counterparts. Lean hog issues finished moderately lower, checked by long liquidation and profit-taking. By John Harrington DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Efforts in the cash cattle trade was limited to the distribution of new showlists. Generally speaking, ready numbers appear to be basically unchanged from last week. According to the closing report, the national hog base is $0.43 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($39.00-$42.00, weighted average $40.76). The corn trade settled 3 cents lower, pressured by the final rounds of the big harvest and the strengthening dollar. The Dow closed 21 points higher with the Nasdaq off 18.
