DTN Closing Livestock Comment 11/22 15:48 Cattle Complex Futures Close With Mixed Prices The cattle complex settled mixed, moderately higher in the live trade and some lower in the feeder market. At the same time, lean hog futures closed moderately lower, pressured by profit-taking and unresolved supply worried. By John Harrington DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Feedlot country remains very quiet through the day with both cattle buyers and sellers holding cards close. A few asking prices came under better focus around $112-plus in the South and $174-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the national hog base is $0.06 higher ($38.00-$42.00, weighted average $40.90). Corn futures settled a penny-plus higher at the conclusion of lackluster trading. Some support may have been garnered from another round of bullish action in the bean market. U.S. equities closed higher with the Dow closing over 19,000 for the first time even. For the day, the Dow gained 67 points while the Nasdaq advanced by 67.
