Trade focus has remained primarily on logistics, with Portland exporters making a final push to get barges downriver before an extended maintenance closure of the river systems begins next week. Many areas of the Pacific Northwest received a covering of snow over the past few days, welcomed ahead of an extended forecast of colder temperatures. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a solid improvement for U.S. wheat loadings over the past week, coming in at 16.6 mb to put the current year toal at 498 mb and 29% ahead of a year ago. Top shipper was hard red winter wheat with 5.5 mb, followed by hard red spring with 5.3 mb. Soft white registered a total of 3 mb and soft red winter claimed a total of 2.7 mb. Japan was top destination off the west coast with 2.4 mb.
