Limited farm movement pushed export basis bids on white wheat above 50 cents today; the strongest spot basis since early December. Spot basis levels on protein wheats remained unchanged, with all markets showing no carries into June. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed another relatively solid level of wheat shipments off U.S. ports, mainly on the shoulders of hard red winter and spring wheat movement. Hard red winter registered a total of 9.2 mb shipped last week, followed by 8.2 mb for hard red spring. Soft white loaded 2.1 mb off the west coast. Japan, China and the Philippines were top destinations. Overall U.S. wheat shipments stand at 760 mb this year, which is up 28% over the same period a year ago. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2017 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
