DTN Early Word Grains 03/28 06:00 Mixed Grain Markets as Traders Brace for Exports, USDA May corn is unchanged, May soybeans are up 2 3/4 cents, and May K.C. wheat is down 5 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Equities are a mixed bag around the globe Thursday morning as the latest round of U.S.-Chinese trade talks resume. To say a lot is riding on the negotiations in Beijing would be an understatement. Otherwise, investors remain cognizant of 10-yr Treasury yields dropping to the lowest level in 16-months as growth fears persist. Grain markets are mixed ahead of export sales data which could confirm the poor state of logistics in the U.S. Friday marks the release of a large tranche of USDA data, half of which could be of limited use given the record flooding across parts of the Midwest. All of our markets have the feeling carryout levels are moving higher as opposed to contracting at the moment. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 32.14 at 25,625.59 and the S&P 500 down 13.09 at 2,818.46 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.374%. Early Thursday, the June DJIA futures are down 6 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 344.97 (-1.61%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 27.78 points (-0.92%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 63.11 points (0.88%), Germany's DAX up 65.09 points (0.57%) and France's CAC 40 up 25.22 points (0.48%). The June Euro is down 0.002 at 1.130 and the June U.S. dollar index is up 0.222 at 96.505. The June 30-Year T-Bond is down 0/32nds, while April gold is down $5.10 at $1,305.30 and May crude oil is down $0.37 at $59.04. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down -0.51% while soybean meal was down -1.17%.
