Bids on all wheats remain flat into September. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a sharp decline in total wheat shipments last week, coming in at about half the prior week at 11.5 mb. Year-to-date loadings now stand at 107 mb and 30% above a year ago. Top shipper for the week was hard red winter with 6.8 mb and spring wheat saw 2.9 mb moved. Taiwan was top destination off the west coast with 1.8 mb and Japan took 1.6 mb. Crop Progress..Hot and dry weather took a toll on the spring wheat crop in Idaho over the past week, as the overall index dropped 4 points to 92% of average. This places that crop at the second lowest rating since 1986, standing just above the 2001 crop. In contrast to that, Washington spring wheat ratings saw the index climb 3% to 108% of average. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2019 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
