Harvest is progressing across the PNW, with many inland areas reporting above average yields. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a marked decline in the pace of U.S. wheat shipments last week, coming in at just under 18 mb to put year-to-date loadings at 200 mb and 25% ahead of a year ago. The top shipper was hard red spring with 5.6 mb, followed by hard red winter at 4.8 mb and soft white at 2.2 mb. Japan was top destination off the PNW ports with 2.6 mb, followed by the Philippines and Iraq. Crop Progress...Intermittent rain showers over the past week slowed the overall winter wheat harvest, as Washington put away another 13% of the crop and stands 13% behind average at 69% complete. Oregon harvest has moved above the 90% mark, while Idaho reports 60% of the crop is in compared to 82% on average. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2019 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
