DTN Early Word Grains 09/25 05:54 Grains Quiet, Mixed Early Wednesday December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 1 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 1/4 cent. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 1 1/4 cents, and December KC wheat is down 1/4 cent. CME Globex Recap: Stock markets around the world were starting lower early Wednesday with most commodities outside of agriculture also leaning lower. U.S. lawmakers in Congress called for an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, sparked by reports the president pressured Ukraine to investigate his political rival, Joe Biden. President Trump also meets with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Wednesday, hoping to secure a trade deal that includes favorable terms for Japan to buy more U.S. ag products at lower tariff levels, similar to what the TPP agreement would have offered. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 142.22 at 26,807.77 and the S&P 500 down 25.18 at 2,966.60 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.63%. Early Wednesday, the December DJIA futures are down 39 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 79 points (-0.36%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 30 points (-1.0%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 68 points (-0.95%), Germany's DAX down 150 points (-1.22%) and France's CAC 40 down 90 points (-1.59%). The December Euro is down 0.002 at 1.1065 and the December U.S. dollar index is up 0.23 at 98.15. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 1/32nd, while December gold is down $2.40 at $1,537.80 and November crude oil is down $0.68 at $56.61. Soybeans and meal on China's Dalian Exchange were both slightly higher.
