Basis levels for all wheats continue to firm, most notably in the red spring wheat market. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a modest increase in overall export sales for U.S. wheat last week, coming in slightly below the four-week average at 12.1 mb. Year-to-date sales now stand at 474 mb; 14% ahead of a year ago but 1% behind the five-year average pace. Top sellers were hard red winter and spring wheat with 4.7 mb each. Hard red winter sales of 179 mb stand 48% ahead of a year ago while red spring sales of 130 mb are 5% ahead of a year ago but 10% behind average. Soft red winter saw 2.7 mb booked and white wheat sales were at 2.4 mb. Soft white commitments are runing 19% behind a year ago and 9% below the five-year average pace. Top Buyers..The Philippines and Japan were at the top end of the list of buyers, booking just over 2 mb each.
