DTN Early Word Grains 10/29 05:57 Tuesday's Grains Start Lower, U.S. Dollar Higher December corn is down 1 1/2 cents, November soybeans are down 2 3/4 cents and December KC wheat is down 1/2 cent. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn is down 1 1/2 cents, November soybeans are down 2 3/4 cents and December KC wheat is down 1/2 cent. CME Globex Recap: U.S. stock futures and European stock markets are modestly lower early Tuesday as the Federal Reserve gets ready to begin its two-day meeting. The December U.S. dollar index is trading up 0.15, while other commodity markets are mostly lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 132.66 at 27,090.72 and the S&P 500 up 16.87 at 3,039.42 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.85%. Early Tuesday, the December DJIA futures are down 42 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 106.86 (0.5%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 25.87 points (-0.9%). European markets are modestly lower with London's FTSE 100 down 27.60 points (-0.4%), Germany's DAX down 26.34 points (-0.2%) and France's CAC 40 down 8.07 points (-0.1%). The December euro is down $0.002 at $1.111. The December U.S. dollar index is up 0.15 at 97.67. The December 30-year T-bond is up 18/32nds, while December gold is unchanged at $1,502.90 and December crude oil is down 57 cents at $55.24. Soybeans are a little higher on China's Dalian Exchange and soybean meal is a little lower. January palm oil is up 0.8% at a new one-year high.
