Hard red spring markets saw a firmer basis offset some of the decline. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a modest week-to-week improvement in U.S. wheat export demand, with an overall total of 14 mb being reported in new commitments. Year-to-date sales now stand at 832 mb, which is 3% ahead of a year ago and 5% above the five-year average pace. Top seller was hard red spring at 7.4 mb for the week, placing sales at 242 mb which stands 6% above a year ago and 1% above average. Hard red winter booked 4.1 mb and with 310 in sales stand 12% ahead of a year ago and 10% above the average. Soft white registered 1.8 mb to put sales at 167 mb; 7% behind a year ago but 8% above average.
