By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn is up 3 3/4 cents, May soybeans are up 7 cents and May KC wheat is up 2 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: European stocks are trading higher early Friday and U.S. stocks are on track for a higher open after Thursday's Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its fifth largest percentage loss in history. The Federal Reserve offered up to $500 billion of short-term loans Thursday to help calm markets and is planning to offer $1 trillion of funding Friday, reported the Wall Street Journal. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 2,352.60 at 21,200.62 and the S&P 500 down 260.74 at 2,480.64 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.85%. Early Friday, March Dow Jones futures are up 754 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 1,128.58 (-6.1%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 35.06 points (-1.2%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 157.00 points (3.0%), Germany's DAX up 173.10 points (1.9%) and France's CAC 40 up 100.79 points (2.5%). The June euro is down $.0002 at $1.214. The June U.S. dollar index is down .05 at 97.60. The June 30-year T-bond is down 3 15/32nds, while April gold is down $6.80 at $1,583.50 and April crude oil is up $1.52 at $33.02. Soybeans are slightly higher on China's Dalian Exchange while soybean meal is modestly lower. May palm oil was up 1 ringgit overnight and is still near its lowest price in five months.
