DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/16 13:55 Soybeans Lower as Export Sales Hit Marketing-Year Low May soybeans closed down 5 1/4 cents Thursday after USDA reported 9.0 million bushels of export sales for last week, a new marketing-year low. May corn eked out a slight gain and July Chicago wheat, once the most bullish of the three wheats, suffered its fourth consecutive loss. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 1/2 cent and December corn was down 1 3/4 cents. May soybeans closed down 5 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 5 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 10 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 10 1/2 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 6 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up .63 at 100.12. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 69.81 points at 23,434.54. June gold is down $5.20 at $1,735.0, May silver is up $0.14 at $15.65 and May copper is down $0.0005. May crude oil is up $0.08 at $19.95, May heating oil is up $0.0371, May RBOB gasoline is down $0.0079 and May natural gas is up $0.083.
