DTN Early Word Grains 04/21 05:59 Commodities Follow Crude Oil Lower July corn is down 4 1/2 cents, July soybeans are down 9 cents and July KC wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn is down 4 1/2 cents, July soybeans are down 9 cents and July KC wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: European stocks are lower overnight and U.S. stock futures are trading lower early Tuesday with June crude showing lower volatile trade, caught in a sell-off after May crude oil prices fell to negative territory on Monday. Outside commodities are also following crude oil lower early Tuesday. President Trump said he is considering shutting off oil imports from Saudi Arabia. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 592.05 at 23,650.44 and the S&P 500 down 51.40 at 2,823.16 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.63%. Early Tuesday, June Dow Jones futures are down 398 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 388.34 points (-2.0%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 25.54 points (-0.9%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 85.09 points (-1.4%), Germany's DAX down 197.86 points (-1.8%) and France's CAC 40 down 82.39 points (-1.8%). The June euro is down $.0027 at $1.0850. The June U.S. dollar index is up .33 at 100.39. The June 30-year T-bond is up 25/32nds, while June gold is down $17.20 at $1,694.0 and June crude oil is down $3.91 at $16.54. Soybeans and meal are both lower on China's Dalian Exchange. July palm oil is down 7% overnight, at its lowest price in nine months.
