DTN Early Word Grains 04/22 05:53 Row Crops Try a Higher Start Wednesday July corn is up 1 3/4 cents, July soybeans are up 3 3/4 cents and July KC wheat is down 6 1/4 cents. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn is up 1 3/4 cents, July soybeans are up 3 3/4 cents and July KC wheat is down 6 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: U.S. Dow Jones futures and European stocks are trading higher early Wednesday, in spite of more bad news on the coronavirus front. U.S. death totals spiked to their second highest level Tuesday, showing effort to slow the spread of the disease has farther to go. The U.S. Senate approved $484 billion in new spending in an effort to help the economy counter the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The U.S House of Representatives are expected to vote on the measure Thursday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 631.56 at 23,018.88 and the S&P 500 down 86.60 at 2,736.56 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.57%. Early Wednesday, June Dow Jones futures are up 335 points. Asian markets are mixed 6with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 142.83 points (-0.7%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 16.97 points (0.6%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 94.78 points (1.7%), Germany's DAX up 160.58 points (1.6%) and France's CAC 40 up 47.23 points (1.1%). The June euro is up $.0015 at $1.0882. The June U.S. dollar index is down 0.22 at 100.16. The June 30-year T-bond is down 7/32nds, while June gold is up $38.50 at $1,726.30 and June crude oil is down $0.64 at $10.93. Soybeans and meal are both a little higher on China's Dalian Exchange. July palm oil is slightly lower overnight, near its lowest price in nine months.
