DTN Early Word Grains 04/27 05:55 Grains Lower, Soy Higher as Planting In Focus July corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, July soybeans are up 2 1/2 cents, and July KC wheat is down 4 cents. By Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn is down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, July soybeans are up 2 1/2 cents, and July KC wheat is down 4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are higher around the globe overnight as investors are showing some optimism toward countries beginning to re-open their economies. In addition, central bank intervention looks like it is going to continue indefinitely with the Bank of Japan out overnight affirming they will buy an unlimited quantity of government bonds to support the world's third largest economy. Despite the optimism, energy markets remain weak as demand from drivers will remain slow to come back. June crude oil is lower over 16% overnight. Grains are mixed overnight with corn and wheat lower while soybeans are posting gains. This week will be about planting progress, export demand and gauging the health of the ethanol industry as states slowly come back to life. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 260.01 at 23,775.27 and the S&P 500 up 38.94 at 2,797.80 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.596%. Early Monday, the June DJIA futures are up 215 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 521.22 (2.71%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 6.97 points (0.25%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 93.22 points (1.62%), Germany's DAX up 251.74 points (2.55%) and France's CAC 40 up 84.31 points (1.92%). The June Euro is up 0.005 at 1.090 and the June U.S. dollar index is down 0.499 at 99.935. The June 30-Year T-Bond is down 14/32nds, while June gold is down $0.40 at $1,735.20 and June crude oil is down $2.83 at $14.11. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were up 0.14% while soybean meal was up 0.29%.
