DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/28 13:59 Wheat Gains on Lower Crop Rating; Announcement Coming? July KC wheat closed up 4 1/4 cents Tuesday after USDA lowered the good-to-excellent rating on winter wheat from 57% to 54%, related to the impact of subfreezing temperatures in mid-April. Row-crop prices held on to small gains, even after news swirled the White House is about to order meat processing plants to stay open. By Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 1 1/4 cents and December corn was up 1/2 cent. July soybeans closed down 4 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 1 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed up 4 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 1 1/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 5 1/4 cents. The June U.S. dollar index is trading down .18 at 99.92. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 113.46 points at 24,247.24. June gold is down $2.40 at $1,721.40, July silver is down $0.04 at $15.17 and July copper is down $0.0005. June crude oil is down $0.29 at $12.49, June heating oil is up $0.0045, June RBOB gasoline is up $0.0130 and June natural gas is up $0.020.
