DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/01 14:10 Grains Mostly Red Friday; Livestock Higher July contracts of corn, soybeans and all three U.S. wheats were lower Friday with spring wheat showing the largest percentage loss. With the status of meat processing plants now an important concern for grains, it was interesting that livestock prices finished the day higher. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 1 1/2 cents and December corn was down 1/2 cent. July soybeans closed down 5 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 2 3/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 5 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 7 3/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 8 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up .05 at 99.08. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 577.82 points at 23,767.90. June gold is up $11.60 at $1,705.80, July silver is up $0.04 at $15.01 and July copper is down $0.0350. June crude oil is up $0.99 at $19.83, June heating oil is down $0.0320, June RBOB gasoline is down $0.0122 and June natural gas is down $0.058.
