DTN Early Word Grains 05/15 05:58 Commodities Higher, China Brings Bullish News July corn is up 1 cent, July soybeans are up 1 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 3 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: July corn is up 1 cent, July soybeans are up 1 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 3 cents. Dow Jones futures are on track for a modestly higher open and June crude oil is trading a little higher after China reported a rebound in industrial production in April, a possible sign the economy is recovering from its earlier experience with coronavirus. European stocks are higher early Friday, in spite of the Eurozone reporting first quarter GDP down 3.2% from a year ago, the largest decline on record. Nearly all commodity prices are trading higher. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 377.37 at 23,625.34 and the S&P 500 up 32.50 at 2,852.50 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.62%. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are up 30 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 122.69 points (0.6%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 1.88 points (-0.1%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 74.04 points (1.3%), Germany's DAX up 176.47 points (1.7%) and France's CAC 40 up 43.68 points (1.0%). The June euro is up $.0031 at $1.0820. The June U.S. dollar index is down 0.23 at 100.28. The June 30-year T-bond is up 6/32nds, while June gold is up $3.90 at $1,744.80 and July crude oil is up $0.63 at $28.51. Soybeans are lower on China's Dalian Exchange, while soybean meal prices are steady. July palm oil is trading up almost 3.0% overnight, rebounding from its lowest prices in ten months.
