DTN Early Word Grains 07/23 06:00 Grains Mixed with Export Sales Eyed December corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 3 cents, and September KC wheat is down 1/2 cent. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 3 cents, and September KC wheat is down 1/2 cent. CME Globex Recap: Global equity markets are mostly higher around the globe overnight with U.S. futures pointed at a firmer open. Energy markets are stronger with spot crude futures up over 1.0%, although price has not taken out Tuesday's highs in the overnight session. Gold futures continue to rally sharply with new nine-year highs overnight and looking to close higher for the fifth session in a row. Silver is off slightly overnight. Grain markets are mixed overnight with corn and hard wheat contracts lower while soybeans, products and Chicago wheat are all higher. It feels like a broken record but weather and Chinese trade relations remain the primary price drivers in our space. Overnight changes to weather models were a mixed bag but mostly trended cooler while moisture increased in the week one forecast and decreased in week two. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 165.44 at 27,005.84 and the S&P 500 up 18.72 at 3,257.30 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.595%. Early Thursday, the September DJIA futures are up 110 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 132.61 (-0.58%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 8.05 points (-0.24%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 43.82 points (0.71%), Germany's DAX up 71.83 points (0.55%) and France's CAC 40 up 25.54 points (0.51%). The September Euro is up 0.002 at 1.160 and the September U.S. dollar index is down 0.095 at 94.835. The September 30-Year T-Bond is up 2/32nds, while August gold is up $17.00 at $1,882.10 and September crude oil is up $0.40 at $42.30. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down 0.02% while soybean meal was up 1.03%.
