DTN Early Word Grains 08/17 05:56 Grains Trade Higher on Dry Forecast December corn is up 3 3/4 cents, November soybeans are up 8 1/4 cents and September KC wheat is up 4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is up 3 3/4 cents, November soybeans are up 8 1/4 cents and September KC wheat is up 4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Monday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher and the September U.S. Dollar Index with Europe's stock markets also trading a little higher. According to CNBC.com and Reuters, Saturday's planned trade talks between the U.S. and China were postponed due to scheduling conflicts. New daily U.S. coronavirus infections appear to be slowly coming down since July 24, but concerns remain high with schools starting in parts of the country. December gold is trading a little higher and grains are starting the week higher with a dry forecast ahead. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 34.30 at 27,931.02 and the S&P 500 down 0.58 at 3,372.85 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.71%. Early Monday, September Dow Jones futures are up 65 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 192.61 points (-0.8%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 78.70 points (2.3%). European markets are a little higher with London's FTSE 100 up 17.97 points (0.3%), Germany's DAX up 20.15 points (0.1%) and France's CAC 40 up 5.08 points (0.1%). The September euro is up $.0012 at $1.1857. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.11 at 92.98. The September 30-year T-bond is up 3/32nds, while December gold is up $11.30 at $1,961.10 and September crude oil is up $0.01 at $42.02. Soybeans are lower, corn is higher and meal is slightly lower on China's Dalian Exchange Monday. October palm oil is trading up 1.3%, near its highest prices in six months.
