Harvest progress continues to reveal above average potential from the soft white wheat crop and nearby logistics are tempering buying interest. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a rebound in U.S. wheat export demand for the past week, coming in near the four-week average at 19.2 mb. Sales to date now stand at 408 mb, which is 7% ahead of both a year ago and the 5- year average pace. Top seller was hard red witner with 6.9 mb, which put sales at 147 mb and 1% behind a year ago but 10% ahead of average. Spring wheat saw 4.8 mb in new commitments and with 121 mb in bookings sets 18% ahead of a year ago and 9% above average. Soft white secured another 3.3 mb to put sales at 83 mb; 24% ahead of a year ago and 7% ahead of average. Top Buyers...The Philippines was the big buyer last week with 6.7 mb, followed by Brazil with 3.3 mb, Unknown at 3.1 mb, Mexico with 2.9 mb and Italy rounding out the top five with 2.4 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2020 DTN/Telvent.
