DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/27 13:54 Corn, Soybeans Race Higher on Solid Demand, Slipping Yields For the past two weeks, both soybeans and corn have been moving solidly higher and Thursday was no exception. Fueled by the derecho winds that tore through the central and Western Corn Belt a few weeks ago, a very hot and dry August weather pattern and massive Chinese demand, funds have bought both commodities, covering corn shorts and going longer beans. New-crop soybean sales have hit a record with sales-to-date through Thursday rising to 880 mb.
