DTN Early Word Grains 09/22 05:54 Grains Starting Firmer Early Tuesday December corn is up 1 3/4 cents, November soybeans are up 3 3/4 cents and December KC wheat is up 6 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading lower and the December U.S. Dollar Index is a little higher with stock markets mixed overseas. After Monday's broad-based selling in stocks and commodities related to a revival of coronavirus concerns in Europe, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell plans to tell Congress that small and medium-sized businesses need financial support, reported the Financial Times. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 509.72 at 27,147.70 and the S&P 500 down 38.41 at 3,281.06 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.67%. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are down 51 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 closed for a holiday and China's Shanghai Composite down 42.63 points (-1.3%). European markets are mixed with London's FTSE 100 down 6.06 points (-0.1%), Germany's DAX up 81.53 points (0.6%) and France's CAC 40 down 3.55 points (-0.1%). The December euro is down $.0015 at $1.1761. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.04 at 93.73. The December 30-year T-bond is up 3/32nds, while December gold is down $1.30 at $1,909.30 and November crude oil is up $0.32 at $39.63. On China's Dalian Exchange, soybeans, corn and soybean meal are all trading lower early Tuesday. November palm oil is trading down 1.2%, a second day lower from its recent 8-month high.
