DTN Early Word Grains 10/06 06:08 Row Crops Higher, Wheat Weaker Overnight December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 7 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 7 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. CME Globex Recap: Quietly lower equity markets with U.S. futures looking at a softer open. Financial media continues to report on talks between Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and House Speaker Pelosi about another stimulus package before the November election. Energy markets are firmer overnight with spot crude inching back toward the 40.00 per barrel mark. The U.S. Dollar Index is a touch weaker overnight and is sitting right at its 50-day moving average. Gold and silver are also weaker overnight as they continue to consolidate. Grain markets are mixed to higher overnight with corn and soybeans tacking on solid gains while wheat markets fail to add to Monday's impressive rally. The manner in which our space has held gains from the rallies the past month is impressive, especially as harvest nears the halfway point. Friday's WASDE report will be higher risk than usual given the implications from last month's quarterly stocks report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 465.83 at 28,148.64 and the S&P 500 up 60.19 at 3,348.44 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.762%. Early Tuesday, the December DJIA futures are down 15 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 121.59 (0.52%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 6.31 points (-0.2%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 34.18 points (-0.58%), Germany's DAX down 22.25 points (-0.17%) and France's CAC 40 down 9 points (-0.18%). The December Euro is up 0.001 at 1.180 and the December U.S. dollar index is down 0.065 at 93.480. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 3/32nds, while December gold is down $1.80 at $1,918.30 and November crude oil is up $0.40 at $39.62. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down -0.95% while soybean meal was down 0.03%.
