DTN Early Word Grains 10/07 05:56 Grains Mostly Higher at Midweek December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 7 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 7 1/2 cents, and December KC wheat is down 3/4 cent. CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are quietly lower overnight although U.S. stock futures are higher following news President Trump might be softening his stance on additional fiscal stimulus after calling off talks with congressional leaders over additional support. The flippant nature on the topic by the President is likely to keep investors anxious right up to election day. Energy markets are softer overnight after the impressive rally Tuesday on concerns about Hurricane Delta hitting refining operations the Gulf of Mexico. After rallying over 3.3% Tuesday, crude oil is giving back most of the gains overnight. The U.S. Dollar Index is higher overnight and has so far held its 50-day moving average. Grain markets are mostly higher overnight with corn taking floor leadership overnight. The bull train continues to head higher, defying seasonal trends and supply correlations as speculative money flows into the ag space. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 375.88 at 27,772.76 and the S&P 500 down 47.68 at 3,408.63 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.742%. Early Wednesday, the December DJIA futures are up 152 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 10.91 (-0.05%) and China's Shanghai Composite closed. European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 up 1.14 points (0.02%), Germany's DAX down 35.38 points (-0.27%) and France's CAC 40 down 5.69 points (-0.12%). The December Euro is down 0.000 at 1.180 and the December U.S. dollar index is up 0.106 at 93.850. The December 30-Year T-Bond is down 21/32nds, while December gold is down $16.50 at $1,892.30 and November crude oil is down $1.04 at $39.63. The Dalian Commodity Exchange is closed due to holiday.
