DTN Early Word Grains 11/11 05:51 Grains Extend Gains Early Wednesday December corn is up 1 1/2 cents, January soybeans are up 9 1/2 cents and December KC wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: December corn is up 1 1/2 cents, January soybeans are up 9 1/2 cents and December KC wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: U.S. government offices are closed for Veterans Day, but U.S. futures markets are open. European stocks and Dow Jones futures are trading higher, continuing to show optimism about the prospects of finding a vaccine for COVID-19. Most commodities are also trading higher early Wednesday, including grains. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 262.95 at 29,420.92 and the S&P 500 down 4.97 at 3,545.53 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 0.97%. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are up 227 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 444.01 (1.8%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 17.95 (0.5%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 33.97 points (0.5%), Germany's DAX up 57.01 points (0.4%) and France's CAC 40 up 19.73 points (0.4%). The December euro is down $.0023 at $1.180. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.15 at 92.89. The December 30-year T-bond is down 2/32nds, while December gold is up $0.30 at $1,876.70 and December crude oil is up $1.41 at $42.77. China's Dalian Exchange showed January corn up 0.6%, January soybeans up 1.8% and January soybean meal up 1.6%. January palm oil is trading up 2.9% at a new contract high.
