DTN Early Word Grains 11/16 05:55 Row Crops Higher, Wheat Weaker to Start Week December corn is up 1 3/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 3 cents, and December KC wheat is down 5 3/4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is up 1 3/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 3 cents, and December KC wheat is down 5 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Higher equity markets around the globe overnight after most indices hit record highs last week. The back-and-forth trade between pessimism about the rising coronavirus caseload and optimism surrounding a vaccine and additional stimulus funds looks as though it will dominate trade again this week. The promise of a vaccine is alluring but the threat of additional lockdowns in the United States seems more pressing in 2020. Energy markets are stronger overnight with WTI crude oil solidly above 40.00 per barrel while Brent futures trade at 43.50 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index continues to consolidate just below all major moving averages. Precious metals are higher overnight. Grain futures are mixed with row crops higher and wheat contracts lower as bulls continue to view dips as buying opportunities in corn and soybeans. South American weather and weekly demand indicators should dominate trade until the next U.S. supply revision in January. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 399.64 at 29,479.81 and the S&P 500 up 48.14 at 3,537.01 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 0.893%. Early Monday, the December DJIA futures are up 258 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 521.06 (2.05%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 36.86 points (1.11%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 45.7 points (0.72%), Germany's DAX up 85.11 points (0.65%) and France's CAC 40 up 67.58 points (1.26%).
