DTN Early Word Grains 11/19 06:05 Weaker Grains Following Wednesday's Surge December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 2 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: December corn is down 5 cents per bushel, January soybeans are down 9 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Global equity markets were mostly weaker overnight with a slightly lower open implied by U.S. futures for Thursday morning. Many financial media outlets are reporting on the fresh coronavirus-related lockdown efforts this week from New York City public schools closing to Colorado urging residents against traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday. Offsetting this to a degree were comments from the Federal Reserve, which hinted that additional financial injections needed to weather the economic storm will be made available. Energy markets are solidly weaker overnight while the U.S. dollar is bouncing and working on its first higher close in six sessions. Grain markets are weaker across the board, giving back a solid portion of Wednesday's impressive gains. Traders will be anxious to get the latest export figures later Thursday morning as that demand sector continues to drive the demand bus. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 344.93 at 29,438.42 and the S&P 500 down 41.74 at 3,609.53 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 0.882%. Early Thursday, the December DJIA futures are down 110 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 93.8 (0.36%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 15.78 points (0.47%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 63.02 points (0.99%), Germany's DAX down 129.84 points (1.05%) and France's CAC 40 down 44 points (0.8%). The December euro is down 0.004 at 1.180 and the December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.339 at 92.650. The December 30-year T-Bond is up 23/32nds, while December gold is down $14.30 at $1,859.60 and December crude oil is down $0.51 at $41.31. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down 0.8% while soybean meal was down 0.35%.
