DTN Early Word Grains 04/29 05:54 Grains Quietly Higher Thursday July corn is up 4 3/4 cents, July soybeans are up 8 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 3 1/2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: July corn is up 4 3/4 cents, July soybeans are up 8 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 3 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are starting higher, while most European markets are also higher. The June U.S. Dollar Index is a little higher after falling to a new two-month low Wednesday. The Federal Reserve kept the federal funds target rate unchanged, near zero, as expected and also acknowledged a strengthening economy and rising inflation. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 164.55 at 33,820.38 and the S&P 500 down 3.54 at 4,183.18 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.62%. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are up 170 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.21% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.52%. European markets are mixed to higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.60%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.40% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.46%. The June euro is down $0.0009 at $1.2128. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 at 90.66. The June 30-year T-bond is down 19/32nds, while June gold is up $2.70 at $1,776.60 and June crude oil is up $0.62 at $64.48. On China's Dalian exchange, quotes are not available. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was down 0.0%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.4%.
