White wheat and hard red winter hit the $8.00 level for the first time since 2014 and new crop August bids were up to $7.90. Hard red spring also marked the best prices since 2017. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a decent week of overall export demand for U.S. wheat, coming in at nearly 17 mb across both old and new crop positions. Old crop slease of 8.2 mb put the year-to-date total at 940 mb, which sets 1% behind a year ago but 4% above the five-year average pace. Total new crop sales stand 30% ahead of a year ago at 95 mb. Top seller for the week was hard red spring with 2.2 mb in old crop to put that total at 284 mb; 2% ahead of a year ago and 8% above average. New crop red spring sales are up 10 mb over a year ago at 25.7 mb. Sales of old crop soft white set at 244 mb, 29% ahead of a year ago and 36% over the five-year pace. New crop commitments are also more than double of that for a year ago at 22 mb.
