DTN Early Word Grains 04/30 05:55 Grains Off to Quiet Lower Start Friday July corn is down 1/2 cent, July soybeans are down 5 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is down 6 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: July corn is down 1/2 cent, July soybeans are down 5 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is down 6 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are starting lower in spite of slightly higher markets in Europe. CNBC.com and Eurostat reported real GDP in the Euro zone was down 0.6% in the first quarter, but France reported a gain of 0.4%. An index of manufacturing in China increased to 51.9 in March, the highest in four months, according to RTTNews.com. The Wall Street Journal said India, Brazil and Japan continue to struggle with high cases of Covid-19. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 239.98 at 34,060.36 and the S&P 500 up 28.29 at 4,211.47 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.64%. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are down 132 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.83% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.81%. European markets are leaning higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.25%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.48% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.04%. The June euro is down $0.0033 at $1.2103. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.20 at 90.79. The June 30-year T-bond is down 4/32nds, while June gold is down $0.60 at $1,767.70 and June crude oil is down $0.79 at $64.22. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.8%, July soybeans were down 1.4%, September soybean meal was down 0.7% and September soybean oil was down 0.9%. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. June Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.8%.
