DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/20 13:51 Corn Firms, Other Crops Sag Lower on Mixed Forecasts Except for corn and oats, most grains traded lower Thursday with forecasts showing beneficial rains in the near term, but also an anticipation of lingering drought in the Northern Plains and northern Midwest this summer. December corn closed up 13 cents, helped by another reported export sale of new-crop corn to China. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 6 1/4 cents and December corn was up 13 cents. July soybeans closed down 5 cents and November soybeans were down 1 1/2 cents. July KC wheat closed down 8 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.40 at 89.79. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 224.91 points at 34,120.95. June gold is down $5.50 at $1,876.0, July silver is down $0.16 at $27.87 and July copper is down $0.0265. July crude oil is down $1.34 at $62.01, July heating oil is down $0.0386, July RBOB gasoline is down $0.0451 and July natural gas is down $0.035.
