DTN Early Word Grains 05/21 07:25 Grains Lower Early Friday, Rain in the Forecast July corn is down 7 1/2 cents, July soybeans are down 15 cents and July KC wheat is down 5 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are starting higher with several manufacturing surveys indicating expansion in Europe. On Thursday, the Labor Department said weekly jobless claims fell to 444,000 last week, the lowest in over a year. Trading in Bitcoin has been volatile this week and is back above $40,000 early Friday, even after the U.S. Treasury called for stricter compliance of virtual currencies. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 188.11 at 34,084.15 and the S&P 500 up 43.44 at 4,159.12 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.63%. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 121 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.78% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.58%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.28%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.39% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.36%. The June euro is up $0.0007 at $1.2232. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.07 at 89.73. The June 30-year T-bond is up 6/32nds, while June gold is down $4.40 at $1,877.50 and July crude oil is up $0.40 at $62.34. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was up 0.6%, July soybeans were down 0.4%, September soybean meal was down 0.2% and September soybean oil was down 1.4%. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. July Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.0%.
