DTN Early Word Grains 09/07 05:56 Soybeans and Soy Oil Firm Early on Tuesday; Corn Little Changed December corn is down 1/2 cent, November soybeans are up 7 1/4 cents and Kansas City September wheat is 3 3/4 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Early on Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are slightly higher, with European markets mostly lower, and Asian markets mixed. The bond market is lower. Rains over the weekend moved through parts of southern Illinois, eastern Kansas and Missouri with up to an inch and a half. The U.S. Coast Guard has reported that the Lower Mississippi River is open to all traffic finally, but power remains an issue with much of the Gulf. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 74.73 at 35,369.09 and the S&P 500 down 1.52 at 4,535.43 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 1.323%. Early Tuesday, the September DJIA futures are up 9 points. Asian markets are mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 617.90 (2.07%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 38.78 points (1.14%). European markets are mixed with London's FTSE 100 down 22.13 points (0.31%), Germany's DAX down 40.06 points (0.25%) and France's CAC 40 down 4.55 points (0.07%). The September euro is down 0.002 at 1.190 and the September U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.187 at 92.220. The September 30-year T-Bond is down 26/32nd, while December gold is down $19.90 at $1,813.80 and October crude oil is down $0.44 at $68.85. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were up 0.43% while soybean meal was down 0.84%.
