DTN Closing Grain Comments 09/08 14:01 Wheat Markets Plunge on Bearish Stats Canada Report; Beans Slightly Firmer Stats Canada came out with end of July all-wheat stocks of 5.7 mmt; the trade was looking for only 4.8 mmt. That sent wheat futures sharply lower. Corn and soybeans continued to grind lower early Wednesday, but recovered, after being pressured by the beneficial warm and dry forecast and the ongoing Gulf export struggles. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed up 2 1/2 cents per bushel and December corn was down 1/2 cent. September soybeans closed up 2 cents and November soybeans were up 2 1/2 cents. December KC wheat closed down 12 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was down 10 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 15 3/4 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.111 at 92.625. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 83.05 points at 35,016.95. December gold is down $3.30 at $1,795.20, December silver is down $0.31 at $24.06 and December copper is down $0.0465 at $4.2350. October crude oil is up $0.87 at $69.22, October heating oil is up $0.0135, October RBOB is up $0.0006 and October natural gas is up $0.350.
