DTN Early Word Grains 09/08 05:57 Soybeans, Soy Oil and Corn Firm; Wheat Mixed to Lower Early Wednesday December corn is up 3 1/4 cents, November soybeans are up 7 1/4 cents and Kansas City September wheat is 1/2 cent lower. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: December corn is up 3 1/4 cents, November soybeans are up 7 1/4 cents and Kansas City September wheat is 1/2 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Early on Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are lower, with European markets lower, and Asian markets are mostly lower. The bond market is lower. Rains over the weekend moved through parts of southern Illinois, Eastern Kansas, and Missouri with up to an inch and a half. The U.S. Coast Guard has reported that the Lower Mississippi River is open to all traffic finally, but power remains an issue with much of the Gulf. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 269.05 at 35,100 and the S&P 500 down 15.49 at 4,520.03 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 1.370%. Early Tuesday, the September DJIA futures are down 46 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 265.07 (o.89%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 1.40 points (.034%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 81.33 points (1.14%), Germany's DAX down 224.85 points (1.42%) and France's CAC 40 down 78.49 points (1.17%). The September euro is down 0.003 at 1.180 and the September U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.206 at 92.720. The September 30-year T-Bond is up 12/32nd, while December gold is up $1.00 at $1,799.50 and October crude oil is up $0.55 at $68.89. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down 0.07% while soybean meal was up 0.78%.
