DTN Closing Grain Comments 09/23 13:50 Grains Mostly Higher as Oats Lead The Way Nearly every grain-related contract finished higher Thursday, led by a 22 1/4-cent gain in December oats and a 14-cent gain in December KC wheat. Increased drought in the southwestern U.S. Plains in this week's new U.S. Drought Monitor plus added support from outside markets contributed to Thursday's higher grain prices. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 3 3/4 cents and March corn was up 4 cents. November soybeans closed up 1 1/2 cents and March soybeans were up 2 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed up 14 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 12 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 8 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.43 at 93.03. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 592.15 points at 34,850.47. December gold is down $27.40 at $1,751.40, December silver is down $0.28 at $22.63 and December copper is down $0.0190. November crude oil is up $1.05 at $73.28, November heating oil is up $0.0349, November RBOB gasoline is up $0.0388 and November natural gas is up $0.130.
