DTN Early Word Grains 09/28 05:54 Soybeans Start Lower as Harvest Rolls On December corn is down 1 cent, November soybeans are down 5 1/4 cents and December KC wheat is up 3 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading lower along with lower stock prices in Europe. The availability of natural gas remains a concern headed into winter. November natural gas jumped to a new contract high Monday and is trading up 37 cents early Tuesday. According to testimony on the Federal Reserve's web site, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is expected to tell the Senate Banking Committee Tuesday inflation is likely to remain elevated in the coming months. Traders will be watching for a possible shutdown of the U.S. government later this week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 71.37 at 34,869.37 and the S&P 500 down 12.37 at 4,443.11 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.48%, the highest in nearly three months. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 90 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.19% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.54%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.35%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.83% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 1.11%. The December euro is down $0.0016 at $1.1701. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.17 at 93.55. The December 30-year T-bond is down 1 2/32nds, while December gold is down $8.80 at $1,743.20 and November crude oil is up $0.86 at $76.31. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.1%, November soybeans were down 1.2%, January soybean meal was up 0.1% and January soybean oil was down 1.6%. September common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.8%.
