DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/04 13:46 Wheat, Corn Crash as Funds Sell; Soybeans, Meal Reject Early Strength Soybeans and soy meal popped back up early Wednesday before succumbing to more heavy liquidation and closing lower for the second consecutive day. Corn and wheat markets were pummeled again on selling tied to still very weak exports and beneficial moisture falling in much of the central, northern and southeast crop areas. For corn, it was the fourth consecutive lower close, likely pressured by the falling crude oil market, and the still tepid pace of exports. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 16 3/4 cents per bushel and May corn was down 16 1/4 cents. January soybeans closed down 9 cents and March soybeans were down 8 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed down 28 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 30 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 15 1/4 cents.
