DTN Closing Livestock Comment 04/19 15:37 Cattle Feel Squeezed While Hogs Keep Momentum Wednesday The livestock complex was a mixed bag throughout Wednesday's market and will look to Thursday for better fundamental support to dictate its trade. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: It was a mixed day for the livestock complex as the cattle contracts endured some pressure while the lean hog market closed higher. Come Thursday, all eyes will be on the cash cattle market to see what trade develops for. Some light trade was reported in the South Wednesday afternoon at $175, which is steady to $1.00 lower than last week's weighted averages. Hog prices closed lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon hog report, down $0.31 with a weighted average of $67.67 on 12,747 hogs. May corn closed down 5 1/4 at $6.723 and July soybean meal closed down $6.60 at $452.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 79.62 at 33,897.01.
