DTN Early Word Grains 10/12 05:35 U.S Crop Prices Quiet Ahead Of Thursday's USDA Reports December corn was down 1/2 cent, November soybeans were up 4 cents and December KC wheat was steady. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn was down 1/2 cent, November soybeans were up 4 cents and December KC wheat was steady. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher along with stocks in Europe and Asia, helped by an easing of interest rate pressures this week. U.S. weekly jobless claims are due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, the same time as the consumer price index for September and update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly report of natural gas storage is at 9:30 a.m., followed by the weekly report of energy inventories at 10:00 a.m. At 11 a.m., USDA releases its Crop Production and WASDE Reports for October, followed by DTN's WASDE webinar at 12:30 p.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 65.57 at 33,804.87 and the S&P 500 Index up 18.71 at 4,376.95. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.60%, a significant drop from last Friday's high of 4.89%. Early Thursday, December Dow Jones futures are up 135 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.73%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.65% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.52%. Asian markets are also higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.75% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.94%.
