DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/18 13:51 Wheat Markets Gain Some Ground; Soybeans Close Above $13 as Soymeal Soars All three wheat markets made sizable gains Wednesday with a scarcity of news to influence trade. Soybeans and soymeal both rose sharply for the fourth time in the past five days, with soybean meal screaming higher. However, they both finished strong with November beans closing above $13.00. Corn was firm for the entire day with December likely to continue to find resistance at $5.00. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 3 cents per bushel at $4.92 and March corn was up 2 3/4 cents at $5.06 1/2. November soybeans closed up 14 1/4 cents at $13.11 and January soybeans were up 13 cents at $13.29 1/4. December KC wheat closed up 3 3/4 cents at $6.71, December Chicago wheat was up 9 3/4 cents at $5.80 and December Minneapolis wheat was up 5 3/4 cents at $7.34.
