DTN Early Word Grains 11/01 05:36 Wheat Prices Start Higher After New KC Low on Halloween December corn was up 1 cent, January soybeans were down 2 cents and December KC wheat was up 6 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn was up 1 cent, January soybeans were down 2 cents and December KC wheat was up 6 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, Dow Jones futures are trading lower ahead of the Federal Reserve's next rate announcement, due out at 1 p.m. CDT. Most are expecting the federal funds target to stay unchanged but forward guidance is likely to lean toward more rate hikes ahead. Reports of manufacturing indices have started coming in from around the world and most are showing contraction in Asia, including in China. India and Russia are two exceptions, showing expansion. The U.S. index is due out at 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly report of energy inventories follows at 9:30 a.m. At 2 p.m., NASS releases its monthly report on Fats and Oils. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 123.91 at 33,052.87 and the S&P 500 Index up 26.98 at 4,193.80. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.88%. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are down 134 points. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.20%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.27% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.10%. Asian markets are also higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 2.41% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.14%.
